A new era is going to set in the greater Kochi The prime minister Dr Mnmohan sing laid the foundation stone for the Kochi metro rail project.The metro providing a system of mass rapid transport by 201the 25 km long Aluva-MG road -Pettah metro coridor will result in the city . The DMRC principal advisor E.Sreedharan said here a few days ago that metro commuters will be able to cover the Aluva - MG road stretch in 28to 30 minutes.They will be able to reach Pettah from the Eranakulam junction railway station in 10th minutes .He also said after widening the key roads of the city , the metro will also improve the city's aesthetics. The space between the metro pillers will be landscaped ,so that vendors and others do not encroach into the space .the expenses have been included in the total project cost(rs 5181core). Aimed at completing the project within 3years.Tenders will be awarded within a week of signing an MoUth with KMRL . Please visit
